I have always been drawn to and employed in careers of service. Following a successful career as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Professor, I have served the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) as a Special Agent for 20 years, specializing in Human Intelligence. I am Family and Divorce Mediation trained and certified.
My experience with family mediation began with my own divorce. Having been strung through an emotionally and financially draining court process with expensive litigation and many uncaring mediators, I had the strong desire to improve this process for others. I used mediation regularly at the FBI to avoid adversarial outcomes in order to attain success peacefully. Divorce, family and custody issues do not have to be adversarial, but can resolve peacefully with a trained mediator from our team.
A mediated divorce or custody arrangement fosters positive co parenting. Everyone has a say in the process and nothing is decided for you by a Judge. It’s a satisfactory and legal resolution that courts cannot and do not provide.
Trained youth mediators are equipped to help children express their needs during a tumultuous time. This allows children to express their feelings to an impartial youth versus the alternative of testifying in family court.
